NAIDOC celebrations in Cronulla

Join Cronulla’s community as it celebrates NAIDOC week – learn about the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Thursday 11 July
Gunnamatta Park, Cronulla
Official proceedings start at 10.00 until 10.30 am
Enjoy the fun until 3 pm
Visit art and craft stalls, watch traditional Aboriginal dance performances and a spear throwing tournament. There will be jumping castles, animal displays and much more.
Including performances by the Col Hardy Band, Evie J Willie and Djaadjawan Dancers.
Please give generously to the gold coin donation and enjoy the morning team and BBQ lunch.

NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
