Darook Park and Beach
The beautiful sandy bay surrounding Darook Park and its beach provides a safe and family friendly place to spend some quality time relaxing of having fun. Located in a more secluded and sheltered spot without the surf waves of the ocean it’s popular with little ones for paddling and splashing around in the gentle waves. The calmer waters provide a safe place for them to have fun in the water. It’s one of Cronulla’s more secret places to visit!
Set within Gunnamatta Bay the park has an Australian bush setting. The park can be booked for special occasions such as a wedding ceremony or a photographic shoot. Contact Sutherland Shire Council for further information and booking details.
Darook Park is fantastic spot to visit – the beach, water and views are truly stunning, but due to the steep park down to the beach from Darook Park Road and access via uneven steps through the park area it could be difficult for little ones, those with prams or less able visitors.
The beach is not patrolled so take care to watch children at all times and, as ever, everyone should take care in the water.
Located at the beach are:
-
Toilets, including disabled toilet
-
Water bubbler
-
Shady grassed areas
